God says "hello"

To: YOU
Date: TODAY
From: GOD
Subject: YOURSELF
Reference: LIFE

This is GOD. Today I will be handling All of your problems for you. I do Not need your help. So, have a nice day.
I love you.

P.S. And, remember...
If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do Not attempt to resolve it yourself! Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. I will get to it in MY TIME. All situations will be resolved, but in My time, not yours.
Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.

If you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair.. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work; think of the man who has been out of work for years.
Should you despair over a relationship gone bad; think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance; think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.

Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror; think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine..
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; remember, things could be worse. You could be one of them!

Should you decide to send this to a friend; Thank you. You may have touched their life in ways you will never know!
Now, you have a nice day...GOD

GOD has seen you struggling,
GOD says it's over.
A blessing is coming your way. If you believe in GOD, please send to ten people (including me) please don't ignore this.

Anne Hathaway to Star as Judy Garland

Anne Hathaway to Star as Judy Garland
Academy Award® nominee Anne Hathaway is attached to star as iconic performer Judy Garland in the film and stage adaptations of Gerald Clarke's biography "Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland," for which The Weinstein Company (TWC) has optioned the film and stage rights. The announcement was made today by Harvey Weinstein, co-chairman of TWC.

"Get Happy," based on hundreds of interviews plus Garland's own unfinished and unpublished autobiography, portrays the dramatic highs and lows of the cultural icon's life-- from her tumultuous early years as a child performer to her tragic last days.

"We are thrilled to have the brilliantly talented Anne Hathaway portray stage and screen legend Judy Garland. I have worked with Anne on projects in the past and have known her for many years. She will be a true class act in this challenging role," said Harvey Weinstein. "Gerald Clarke's biography is a fascinating and comprehensive look at Garland's life and is particularly outstanding because of its exclusive details from her own writings. Her story is incredible subject matter for both theatre and film and we look forward to bringing it to audiences."

--------------

I think Anne Hathaway could do a spectacular job, though I'm a little concerned in some aspects of her appearance. What I mean is that while she's goregeous, Judy Garland was only 4"10 whereas Anne Hathaway is at least 5"8. Also, Judy Garland had issues with her weight; I never saw her as fat, but you know how Hollywood is (and was). Garland was short and curvy whereas Anne Hathaway is tall and skinny. Still, I'm looking forward to this!

Did anyone get to see "Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows?" It aired eight years ago on ABC, starring Tammy Blanchard as young Judy Garland and Judy Davis as older Judy Garland. I've always been a Wizard of Oz nut, so when that movie came out I immediately became a fan of Judy Garland too.

A Lil’ Bit of Everything

Recently I finished a series that I have been working on for the past six years. Well, I’ll have to go back and do dozens of drafts, but my heroine’s tale has finally come to an end. It’s an odd feeling. Usually when I finish a book I’m in tears, but this wasn’t the case. I was relieved, as if a heavy burden was lifted from my shoulders. Like I said, there will be many drafts to come, changes, omissions, additions, etc. But someday (God willing) I’ll be published and then I’ll say good-bye to this heroine (for a little while anyway ;~)). I already have another series in mind and am in the midst of preparing for it. It’ll be refreshing to write from a new perspective, a different setting and a unique personality. Not only that, the thought of working on something new is exciting to me.

Yesterday we had our picture taken for the church directory. The photographer was asking what my sister and I did for a living and we replied that we were unpublished authors. Sis said that she wrote about the 101st Airborne and that I wrote about the holocaust. He was impressed and we had a passionate discussion on how important history is to our future. He commented on how young we were to be interested in that sort of thing and was also curious as to how we ended up writing about these topics. My sister and I explained how our grandparents were part of the Great Generation, that they were born at the end of WWI, and lived through the Roaring 20’s, the Great Depression and into WW2. That we grew up hearing about the past and enjoyed listening to their stories. My interest in the holocaust stems back to Anne Frank. I received her diary for my 12th birthday and had absolutely no idea why she was in hiding. I don’t recall the schoolbooks mentioning the holocaust and the concentration camps until high school. So I did research on the Frank family and the whole situation in Europe during the 30’s and 40’s. Later on in middle school I was required to read “The Hiding Place,” which is about Corrie ten Boom and her family hiding Jews, but the curriculum itself never went very in-depth. For awhile there reading about Anne Frank and the holocaust was just an interest… until 2003.

That’s when I began to write about a teenage rescuer in Poland. From then on I read everything about the holocaust that I could get my hands on. My story has went through like hundreds, maybe even thousands of revisions and I pray to God that it gets published. But I’m living on His timing. In the past when I’ve tried to submit it to agents I took God off of His throne and made an idol out of my work. My story is important to me, but God forbid it ever becomes more important than Jesus, my family or my friends.

I Believe...

I thought I'd share this poem that I found on the internet. It was written during WW2, on the wall of a cellar, by a Jew in the Cologne concentration camp.

"I believe in the sun
even when it is not shining
And I believe in love,
even when there's no one there.
And I belive in God,
even when he is silent.

I believe through any trial,
there is always a way
But sometimes in this suffering
and hopeless despair
My heart cries for shelter,
to know someone's there
But a voice rises within me, saying hold on
my child, I'll give you strength,
I'll give you hope. Just stay a little while.

I believe in the sun
even when it is not shining
And I believe in love
even when there's no one there
But I believe in God
even when he is silent
I believe through any trial
there is always a way.

May there someday be sunshine
May there someday be happiness
May there someday be love
May there someday be peace...."

Libraries and Ice Cream

Our pastor likes for someone to pray for him and the congregation while he's preaching. The week prior I had signed up for the 8th so it was my turn. Well, for some reason the usual room where we're supposed pray had it's door open and it was visable to the parishoners. So I was looking around for another room and stumbled upon this empty one. When I turned on the light I saw that there were bags and boxes of books in the corner. Of course I had to scrounge through it and even though there wasn't enough to make up a church library, it was a nice start. I was excited and did more mental planning than I did praying.

I was the librarian at the last church we attended and really enjoyed the challenge of putting it all together. Unfortunately those church members never used the books or movies, but the children did. When that church closed I took some books with me in hopes that when the church opened again that we'd have some materials to work with. That church remained closed so I still have some of those books that could be donated to this new library. Not only that I plan to add some of my own books and hope that others will contribute. I'm hoping that these church members will use this library often. This is really an answer to prayer, even before I prayed it. I needed something to get me even more invovled in church. I love books; I'm so obsessed with them that I hope someday my own may sit on bookshelves in stores and libraries all over.

Want to hear some bad news? Because of the economic challenges we've had recently, our public library had to close three of its branches. The main library is on Poplar, but it had four branches. One North, one south, one at the Meadows mall and one in West T. The one in West T. is staying open. The one at the Meadows mall has been around ever since I was a little girl. My dad said it opened when he was young. I'm sad to see it go. Sometimes when the family was shopping, I'd go to that mini-library and look around. Oh well. Maybe they'll bring back J. P. Anthony's, an awesome little bookstore. That was what was there before the library was moved into there from the basement. Or maybe Pinwheel Cream, the little sandwich and ice cream shop that was there prior to J.P. Anthony's. I'm rooting for Pinwheel Cream; grandma used to take me there when I was younger. I loved that shop. Gotta love anything to do with ice cream.

The U In JesUs

Before U were thought of or time had begun,
God stuck U in the name of His Son.

And each time U pray, you'll see it's true,
You can't spell out JesUs and not include U.

You're a pretty big part of His wonderful name,
For U, He was born; that's why He came.

And His great love for U is the reason He died.
It even takes U to spell crUcified.

Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand
He rose from the dead, with U in His plan?

The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew,
and this word resUrrection is spelled with a U.

When JesUs left earth at His upward ascension,
He felt there was one thing He just had to mention.

'Go into the world and tell them it's true
That I love them all - Just like I love U.'

So many great people are spelled with a U,
Don't they have a right to know JesUs too?

It all depends now on what U will do,
He'd like them to know,
But it all starts with U.
